Reid was a rescue through Doberman Rescue. A No-Kill Shelter in Bend, Oregon brought him to our attention. Reid was left in a crate for two weeks back in April '98 due to his 94 year old owner passing on (the man's wife passed on 6 months prior). Neighbors had filed a nuisance complaint with the city because of Reid's incessant crying. Low and behold he was found barely alive. The authorities were able to get him to vererinary care where he was on Iv's for four days and then released to the Bend No-Kill Shelter. Feid was at the shelter for 1 to 2 weeks prior to us knowing about him. Reid ahs made a fantastic recovery after months ofmourning his owners death along with gaining back the 30 pounds he had lost. Reid is such a gentle, kind loving sourl. Reid now spend his life playing, running and sleeping with this new family members (two Dobermans & birds). Needless to say this Dobe kid has come a long way in four and ahlf years. Waht an absolute joy!

Reid is also a certified Pet Assisted Therapy Dog through Dove Lewis Emergency Hospital and blood donor. He now visits patients and staff at the the VA Hospital once a week. He has been visiting for four years. He absolutely loves it.
